Anime Questions Round 1: Is Lelouch Still Alive at the end of Code Geass R2?

Some of our blog posts here at Anime Tux are going to be anime questions that people are free to discuss in the comments. These questions serve as mental stimulation to get you really thinking about the anime you love. You can submit new questions for us to answer by emailing freelancer.curt (at) gmail (dot) com.

Now Lelouch is the main character of the anime Code Geass. The anime was insanely popular and even won anime of the year (2006). If you don't know the ending, I won't spoil it for you, but I personally think Lelouch lives through what happens at the end.

I think that Lelouch is immortal and has Geass power in both eyes.

When Lelouch kills his father in C's world, I believe he takes Charles' code that Charles took from VV.

Since this is a different code than CC's, CC is still alive, and Lelouch retains his Geass ability. When Charles took VV's code, he lost his geass in trade for immortality. Remember how the code activates? The person with the Geass code in them has to die before it activates, reviving them. After they revive, they are immortal as Charles was when Lelouch forced Charles shoot himself through the heart.

Now at the end when Lelouch "dies," his code activates a little after that, so, at some point, he is just playing dead. I'd like to prove that Lelouch is like CC at the end because he is telepathic. Remember only someone like CC can communicate telepathically like she did with Suzaku in season one. Lelouch does this with Nunally when she touches him, he transfers memories of his "zero requiem" plan to her so she won't hate him anymore.

My final proof that Lelouch is still alive is CC's last line, "...isn't that right Lelouch?"

CC could only talk to dead people in C's world. The exceptions was Marionne because of Marionne's geass which allowed her to place herself in peoples hearts. I think Lelouch is the cart driver here in this picture. It is just too perfect an opportunity. Why would he be covered up if he weren't Lelouch? Why not just have a normal cart driver? Too perfect.

This is just my theory pieced from other theories on the Internet though. Feel free to disagree with me and leave any comments you want with your own theories.

As aways, thanks for coming to Anime Tux. You're intellectual anime blog.
